I expected a biography, I ended up with a comedy. Not bad.
The first chapter looks like a fan-fiction written to celebrate someone's hero. The chapters about their case studies are fun. The last third is bordeline boring.
Only in the US a middle-class couple could invent themselves as demonologists, and make a living out of it. And how come every kid in the country seems to own a ouija board? Here is my favourite quote ever. A mother is complaining about her haunted house and wondering if her daughter's interest in the occult is to blame:
Ok, let's analyze it.
a) a teeneger plays the witch and the mother is fine with that. Kudos to mum.
b) mum wants to improve Meg's skills, so she buys a book about conjuring demons
c) does B&N sells that?!? The kid says it's a paperback with 75 different rituals to conjure 75 different demons. Do you really can buy a Conjuring for Dummies at your local bookstore?
Thruth his, everyone sees what one wants to see. If I'm a catholic and something strange happens, I will blame the devil with the horns. If I'm hindu I'll blame Shiva. If I'm a pastafarian, I will blame the carbo-hangover of the previous night.

Meg has always been interested in the occult - witchcraft, spells, that sort of thing. She has a small library, but none of the books were on conjuring. So last Christmas, I bought her one on conjuring demons as a present

Me queda a deber.

Very informative, well done! Was nice to hear actual accounts of their history as well as cases throughout the years that inspired the movies. Can see how Hollywood really played it up quite a bit which in itself I understand but it is upsetting because it makes people believe more so that it’s a haul more so than real life events.

This is an excellent piece of entertainment that is marred by the author’s attempts at convincing the reader of the reality of his claims. I know Ed and Lorraine Warren believed themselves to be real demonologists but they were clearly, in the best scenario, delusional believers. To present the nonsense they spewed as truth is to be an accomplice in their deceptions of the public.
