Beautifully illustrated book! Cute story. I don't have much to complain about, but I loved everything about this book. Great if you loved the Disney channel shows growing up mixed with racial justice and New Orleans culture.

This book is a blast! Mix in some paranormal, teenage drama, light romance, dark secrets, ghost cat and horse, new Orleans history, and a haunted plantation house and you get a great graphic novel!

I've been craving a ghosty romance lately so when I saw this one was about to come out, I immediately put it on hold at my local library! I'll start by saying the art and coloring in this graphic novel were lovely! I also really liked the character designs and the concept/idea was pretty intriguing for this graphic novel! However...on the whole, I didn't find myself loving this one as much as I hoped. There were a lot of characters and that really watered down the plot and took away from valuable pages that could have been devoted to our main two characters. I had a lot of questions and that's what pulled my rating down so much. As someone who reads a lot of comics, I also wish the text had been broken up a bit--I felt like there were lots of pages with just a ton of dialogue which made reading drag and slow the plot down.
