So fun to read all these again, and to see more of Violet's perspective. Catching all the references through the timeline was so fun.

The 2nd epilogues were fun. Were they necessary? Perhaps not. Did they entirely focus on the couple from the book? No, but that made them fun. Anthony and Kate’s pall
Mall epilogue was entertaining. And Franscesa’s chapter was amazing and came with an entirely different tone then the rest of the epilogues, which matched her novel perfectly. I do think Julian Quinn had absolutely nothing to add to make Eloise and Philip’s love better. And Colin and Penelope still bore me. I did enjoy the new stories from side characters. And Hyacinth and Gareth’s epilogue made me like them more. I do wish Violet’s epilogue stayed in one time zone though.

Read for Violet’s Story

I had read all of the second epilogues when I read the books. I wanted to know about Violet. It is a novella only available in this book. I’m glad I read it.

yay for violet!

Waste

This is the biggest waste of money ever... The epilogues are in the back of the other books and this was basically a book of them combined except for the SMALL, minute part about Violet. Wasn’t worth the money.

This is a collection of 2nd epilogues for each of the eight Bridgerton books as well as a novella about Violet, the Bridgerton matriarch. Overall, I enjoyed them. They tie up loose ends or give a glimpse into the future for the characters. Quinn gives a brief introduction to each explaining what inspired it. Here are my thoughts on each of the epilogues and the Violet novella:

The Duke and I: The 2nd Epilogue:
Daphne receives a surprise and Simon finally reads his father's letters. This one is enjoyable and sweet. It also features Colin and Penelope, and I love Penelope.

The Viscount Who Loved Me: The 2nd Epilogue:
Kate and Anthony are showing their very competitive sides during a match of Pall Mall. The Pall Mall scene was my favorite in the book. It was fun to have the game featured again with most of the Bridgertons present.

An Offer From A Gentleman: The 2nd Epilogue:
Sophie and Benedict are trying to find a husband for Posy, Sophie's stepsister. It was nice to see Posy, who was kind to Sophie in the book, get a happy ending. It also doesn't have much Benedict, which was a plus for me as I dislike his character.

Romancing Mister Bridgerton: The 2nd Epilogue:
We learn how Eloise found out that Penelope is Lady Whistledown. I was glad that this epilogue covers this as the book doesn't and that was a big disappointment. It has nice scenes between Eloise and Penelope and between Penelope and Colin.

To Sir Phillip, With Love: The 2nd Epilogue:
Amanda, Eloise's stepdaughter, is now grown up. She tells her story and she falls in love. I was glad this didn't focus on Eloise and Phillip as they were my least favorite pairing but it still features Eloise, a character I love. Amanda's story is nice and I'm glad she turns out well considering she and her brother were such terrible children.

When He Was Wicked: The 2nd Epilogue:
Francesca and Michael finally have children. I liked this one a lot. Whether or not Francesca and Michael have children is a question the book didn't answer and that was frustrating as Francesca's longing for children was a big part of the book. I was glad to see Francesca get her heart's desire.

It's in His Kiss: The 2nd Epilogue:
Hyacinth finally finds the jewels hidden in her home that she has been searching for for years. This is my favorite of the books, but I was really disappointed that Hyacinth doesn't find the jewels (her daughter Isabella does but hides them again without telling anyone). I'm very glad that we finally get the satisfaction of Hyacinth finding them, it was maddening that the book doesn't cover this.

On the Way to the Wedding: The 2nd Epilogue:
Lucy and Gregory are about to welcome their eighth child but complications ensue. I like that we learn about Gregory's and Lucy's children and Hyacinth, one of my favorite, characters makes an appearance.

Violet in Bloom
This novella about Violet is a series of vignettes about her life. We look a little at her childhood, how she and her husband Edmund met and married, his death and the aftermath and we get a peek at her life as an old woman. I really liked this and I was happy we found out more about Violet and Edmund's love story.

Overall, this is a nice cap to the Bridgerton series.
