A perfectly charming ending to the series, but geez what a family tree that'll be.
My overall thoughts of the Bridgerton series are that they're perfectly enjoyable. Are they works of literary genius? No. Are they meant to be? Equally, no. I already loved the characters which I think helped my enjoyment and they were all written in a way that made them deliciously bingeworthy (I did all 9 in like 2 weeks which is unheard of for me, I'm shocking at finishing series). The tv show has definitely done the characters and their stories a great service and I look forward to seeing how they adapt the stories for the remaining siblings.

OK, so I confess I didn’t read all the short stories in this book. I’ve been reading the second epilogues as I go through the novels. My impression of the first four second epilogues was that they were all right. Book one didn’t stand out in my mind, book 2 was pretty boring unless you were really into the yard games, book 3 was actually pretty funny because it stars completely different characters, and book four was just like a continuation a few years later. That’s all of the novels I’ve read at this point, but I did skip ahead to read Violet’s story.
And let me tell you. I am shook. I went from not really thinking about and or caring about Edmond Bridgerton to being completely dead when he died. Since he is not in any of the books, although he does feature some in book two, this novella or short story does a ton to build his character and really made me very sad. I’m going to think about him a lot more as I watch season two Bridgerton someday.
Basically this novella covers how Violet and Edmond met and jumps around from the first months of their marriage to Edmond’s death to Violet’s life after his death. There are some mild spoilers but nothing you wouldn’t get from reading the descriptions of all the novels. Definitely not necessary to read but it gives you a good view into the Bridgerton parents and breaks your heart a little bit.

Adorable. I do wish there had been a bit more to Violet's story though!
It made me smile. Especially the Violet novella. Though, I would have preferred the Benedict and Eloise epilogues to be...well. More focused on them.
I love the direction of this book, full of 2nd epilogues and a bonus novella on Violet. Got 7 short stories that extended the questions I had from the series all in one go. Easy to digest, great character development in such short spurts and a whole lotta romance.
And just like that, the Bridgerton series is complete!
