Listened to the audiobook version, though the experience listening to it more like a long podcast episode. The central thesis posits that thinking is the source of our suffering and that the key to living a happy, fulfilling life is to think less. As far as motivational self-help books go, the focus is definitely more on providing practical actionable steps to de-escalate our overthinking tendencies in a concise way for a wider audience, but in doing so, the book does sacrifice depth in providing the empirical studies on thinking and informing his practical/actionable methods with research-backed evidence. It could be useful to adapt some of his more practical sections, but I would supplement this book with additional resources that explore this topic from a research perspective if this topic is super interesting to you. Beyond the first three chapters, his points become more repetitive, which is not great for a book that's only supposed to be ~100 pages.
