A very disappointing book from the author who wrote one of my favorite trilogies. She should have taken more time on this one and probably listened to more advice. Her new characters are the most interesting part, but barely get more than a sidekick role. Her old characters aren't who they used to be, not because they've changed but because she's writing them differently, and there's a disconnect that is jaring.  Kell especially was written so very poorly in this one, and he's the best character of them all. The new characters and the new storyline are interesting enough to keep reading, but I wouldn't recommend it. Also the story splits between characters and worlds and storylines so often, it really sucks.
