Despite my dislike of the first novel I read this second novel anyway. I'm glad I did as the second had much better storytelling and engagement with the characters. The plot was interesting and the pace of the novel keep me intrigued until the end. I'll be looking forward to reading the third and final.

Alright...I really don't like NOT finishing books or even series, but I think I'm out.
I liked this story slightly better than the first, but not enough to want to continue in this universe. The writing got markedly better (thank you), but the story just didn't do it for me...and to know that there are two more books. Nope. I'm done.
I just didn't like the characters. I wish I did, but it just didn't work for ME. I hope, if you are reading this...you say..."well, it worked for me." I'd actually love to hear that.
This author has put his blood, sweat and tears into this story, it just wasn't for me.
