Lyr's tenacity shines like a beacon, drawing readers into her world and leaving a lasting impact. As the story unfolds, we witness a remarkable journey of resilience and determination that makes her a truly unforgettable protagonist. Lyr's unwavering spirit becomes a source of inspiration, causing me to question my own resolve when faced with challenges in my life. She embodies the strength of character that we all aspire to possess, and her presence lingers long after the final pages.
While this isn't my favourite in the series, I definitely enjoy my time in this universe

This was certainly a strong sequel! Maybe because I have a better understanding of the world and details that this time around, it didn’t feel like there were random info dumps.
I will say I was a little disappointed with the romance. ⚠️ Slight spoiler! I really liked how the first book had a slow burn romance that gets things set up for Book 2. But honestly when Rhyan professed his feelings for Lyr about midway through and *told her what he wanted to do to her*

I don’t mind a slow burner, which describes the first two books perfectly. It gives you small crumbs of events throughout, enough to keep you interested and invested in the characters and at about 70% in the second book we finally get some major events.
I read the second straight after the first so I found the first couple chapters unnecessary retelling of the first book.
I really enjoy Lyr and her growth throughout the books, especially the second. I love that we got to see more of her sisters and their relationship.
Two words: Rhyan Hart

1) very rarely does an author write a villain so [well?] as to make me lose my mind when they’re on the page. I hate everything about… that whole deal. Multiple people.
2) totally called that twist.
3) if the next book doesn’t have a ton of ✨ I will start a riot.

I’m still reeling from the end of this book, I’m definitely in a good book hangover which I really haven’t had in a while. I just keep thinking about Lyr and Rhyan. I thought the first book was good but this one was phenomenal, better than the first and I adored every second of it. The ending so much happened and I’m glad I only need to wait until February because I need to know now and get back with Lyr and Rhyan
