I always love a good book of short stories, and this one sets the bar high. Each story sends you right into the world of someone who is complex, flawed, and intriguing. I would have loved to dive deeper into the world of each short story, but what she gives us with each one is just enough. The last story, which the book is named after, is steady and thought provoking and tragic. I can't wait to read more by Evans.

This is one of the best collections I have read in a while and definitely one of the best books I've read this year. I bumped a star because some passages were a bit too rambly for me to follow and I think the more subtle messages went over my head but, boy, were they all beautiful (if painful) to read.
