leto, 1518, Štrasburg. brutálne horúčavy celé leto (nemusíte si ani predstavovať aké, stačí počkať do ďalšieho nášho leta), málo vody, jedla a taká klasická stredoveká komunita.
Lisbet je v pokročilom tehotenstve, Nethe sa vráti po niekoľkoročnom (záhadnom) treste v horskom kláštore a cirkev im chce vziať včely, lebo sa nezákonne obohacujú medom z cirkevných kvetov v záhrade... taká klasika.
Ale pod povrchom (ani nad ním) to fakt nie je idylka a keď zrazu zachváti takmer všetky ženy v meste hystéria smrteľného tanca, ktorú nikto a nič nevie zastaviť, guľa sa púšťa dole kopcom mizérie čoraz rýchlejšie. zároveň ale vzrastá maličká nádej maličkého univerza, ktoré si postavy vytvorili.
odporúčam čítať cez leto na lepšiu atmosféru.
koniec mi prišiel trochu príliš melodramatický (hlavne jeden konkrétny monológ, ktorý pôsobil skôr rýchlo napísaný, aby všetky checkboxy tém boli rýchlo odškrtnuté), jedna vec sa mi nezdalastyk doslova pár dní pred pôrodom je fakt ok fyzicky??, ale malo to aj krásne momenty a veľmi som fandila niektorým vzťahom. ♥

The Dance Tree – Kiran Millwood Hargrave – set in Strasberg 1518 in a time of superstition and hysteria and a blistering hot summer. A woman begins to dance in the city square, she dances for days without rest as soon is joined by hundreds more. The authorities (The Church) bring in musicians to play the Devil out of the women. The story is is full of family secrets, forbidden love and women pushed to the edge and the power of the Church and men. The story is inspired by the true life events of a doomed summer. I listened to an audiobook and found some parts a little hard to follow, I don’t know if that was due to the narrator or me. Again one of those story’s that makes me grateful to be born when I was and where I was, but I suppose I would have been a very different person if I was born in the 1500’s to start with I would be unlikely to read and write.
