beautifully written, however i thought this novel was going to be something else - i believed the large focus would be on this mysterious dancing plague that took over strasbourg in 1518. in reality, this was the backdrop for the novel, which was more character-driven, focused on lisbet and her family. enjoyed but not what i was expecting (or in reality wanting to read).

Not unlike other readers, I was immediately drawn in by the story of the dancing plague. Unfortunately, the core story of the book is muddled. It felt like the author was trying to tell too many stories at once and no one story ends up being clear enough.

There is so much here that could be good. But it did not land for me.
