I had to keep on reminding myself this was Emily Henry and not Taylor Jenkins Reid. Not that that was a bad thing.
Loved the final parts with Alice’s parents story and choosing love.

Another enjoyable read from an author who's pretty much an auto-read for me now, but I can't say it quite hit the heights of her previous offerings. I liked Alice and Hayden's chemistry, but did feel it escalated a bit quickly; Emily Henry is so good at the slow burn, but the tension was cut rather quickly, and I didn't quite grasp Hayden's jump from stoic to smitten. The parallel plot of Margaret's family was well done — it gave me Evelyn Hugo vibes — but I found the ending rushed and a little too neat. I read a few other reviews that said the novel didn't feel as polished as Henry's previous ones, and I think I agree. There's a lot of good stuff here, but especially for a novel that clocks in at nearly 450 pages, I think it could have benefited from some more streamlining and sharpening.

So good, very "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo"-esque but happier. Less Rom-com than her other books, more romantic fiction. Heartbreaking and healing at the same time. Wonderful.

This book felt different from Emily Henry’s other novels (for one it didn’t take place in Michigan!) but I really enjoyed it. Margaret’s story was intriguing and it made me want to keep reading! The end felt a little rushed and confusing but overall another great Em Hen book!

The books tranforms in the final quarter. I found the romance secondary in this book. Margaret's story was all I wanted to know. The
twist
at the end was wonderful and change the book up a star rating but
I wish we had gotten to know more about Margaret and Hayden's relationship.  Did Nadine ever forgive her bio mother and let her in? The book build up Margaret's story and I wanted to know this key part.
