Perhaps it is my fault for thinking this would be more of a romance/rom com. While the premise was intriguing it was hard to keep all the details and names straight when our MFC, Alice, a writer, was interviewing a once ever-present socialite (she is doing so in hopes of landing a major book deal). The “love story” felt forced and happens very quickly and while I am not looking for realism in my works of fiction I found myself thinking, “really?” more than once. There is no slow burn. This is not an enemies to lovers, this is more of acquaintances to lovers.
