This was just okay for me… 3 stars feels kind of generous honestly, but 2 feels harsh. I expected it to be funnier because I love Amy, but it fell a little flat. The last chapter that was read live was one my favorites so maybe the addition of an audience brings out a different spirit in her that made it more enjoyable.
not really a complete autobiography. very vague. but good intro to SNL life. I don't know much more about her with this book really.

Loved it. Listened to the audiobook and it was well worth it. I smiled and laughed the whole way. Very insightful.
This was not as good as I'd hoped it would be. My main issue is that this book is all over the place. It feels like this is the notebook where Amy wrote down all her story-ideas she wanted to share in her book but didn't really organize them.
I also felt like for a long time we are stuck feeling like Amy doesn't really want to write a book and certainly does not want you to get to know more about her. There is a distance that is created in this book, when it actually should be the other way around. Amy Poehler is still one of the funniest women I know of and I love her work, but clearly, autobiographical essays are not her strong suit.

Poehler gives you a glimpse into the life of the funny gal trying to make it in comedy and trying to survive once you're there. Lessons of life and love, incorporated with some hilarity give you a nice overview of her life.
Recommend listening to the audiobook. She narrates it herself and brings in friends to help her in her book journey! Great book for all :)

Whooo boy, get ready to laugh and cry and laugh again. God dammit, Poehler, you make me want to step it up.
I would count myself as a pretty big fan of Amy Poehler, but I didn't really like this book.
It reads like a biography that doesn't want to be a biography because it doesn't reveal all that much about its subject outside of recreational drug use. There are sections that verge on being inspirational and empowering to women, but they kind of miss their mark.
I approached this book hoping for it to be a readalike to Bossypants by Tina Fey, which I loved, but it's quite a bit different and has more of a scrapbook approach to topics covered.
Overall, not an essential read, even for fans.
