Deadly Roomate

I won't lie--it took me a while to finish this book (for a couple of reasons, none of which had to do with the book itself). What's so lovely about it is that it's a breath of fresh air--Amy Poehler talks about life and fame and hard work and dedication, making sure to let us know that she's using all of those to get the book done. The voracity to finish her memoir was obvious, and it made me want to keep reading so I could finish the journey with her. There's so many things in here that I identify with, or know other great and wonderful women (and men, for that matter) who would, that I wanted to firmly shake the author's hand and maybe tell her I love her a little. I'm really glad I finished reading it, and that she finished writing it--it was worth it (at least for me).

funny informative

I truly believe we are living in a golden age of comediennes.

Yes Please was exactly what I thought it was going to be. It is filled with humor, name drops, set stories of SNL and Parks (which I'd like more of, please.) Amy is one of my favorite female comedians and she never fails to make me smile or laugh. There were a few jokes she had in here that I wasn't a huge fan of but the read itself was incredibly enjoyable. I listened to this on audio and that really enchanced my reading experience especially the back and forth between her and Seth Meyers.

Highly recommend reading this if you're a fan of Amy.

I listened to this book on audio and I thing this was a great way to do it. Amy poehler narrates, but she also has several guests. Parts are conversational. Parts of this book are really fantastic, like when she is talking about her castmates, her kids, and Haiti. The rest is still quite good, if not as exceptional.

This was a funny yet thoughtful book. Miss Poehler reading it was the bomb! I laughed at all the funniness going on in the audio booth, Lovely book though.

i dont do a whole lot of biographies, but i heard good things. I enjoyed amy poehler reading her own words, but i wasn't a huge fan of the content or of how it was put together. it was at times either too hyper, too adult, or too maudlin for my tastes. still a funny read, and I LOVED the use of guest stars (wish there'd been more!)
