okay…..guys…..listen….it started out good, it really did! but then like- things just got confusing.

so it follows Ophelia and Breaker….yes you read that right, no it wasn’t autocorrected, his name is indeed Breaker…..which….i just kept reading it as Brekker because like….my brain just refused to read his real name….because let’s be real, that’s a fucking stupid name.

Lia (short for Ophelia) and Breaker are college friends. they’ve known each other for ten years, since freshmen year of college. the story starts with Breaker being forced to take a sabbatical from his job because a lawsuit was filed against his company he shares with his two older brothers Huxley and JP (also weird ass names but not as weird as Breaker). so this is when we we meet 29 year old Lia. Lia is engaged to a dick named BRIAN, who is a wealthy, HARDCORE mommas boy, with a bitch of a momma to add onto that. Breaker, naturally, doesn’t like him and, when informed of Lia’s engagement to the asshole and how she has to endure the mother and her planning, he offers to come along with her to help her try and make the wedding her own instead of the mother. SO I MEAN i was doing good. it was funny, their friendship was pretty cute, would’ve been cuter if it hadn’t gotten confusing, and they liked a lot of the same things. i MYSELF like those things too SOOOO i was ready to root for them- WHICH I DID until things happened.

so the first problem, before the main problem, is that, Breakers reason for having all this time to spend with Lia in the first place, i like….completely forgot about throughout the book. it’s never mentioned…like….EV

This book was fine. The dynamic between the two was sweet and cute, nothing too fancy. This was my first dive into smutty romance and I can’t wait to read more and delve deeper into the genre. This was a good first choice in my opinion.
