DID NOT FINISH

DNF @ p. 89

This sounds like a book I would love so I’m bummed that I’m not feeling it.

Crazy

This is everything you want from a dystopian YA - excitement, a class system, an underdog and princesses.

This is a great combination of the selection and the hunger games. As someone who loved the hunger games, I was glad to read another book in this vein.

Zea represents the uncertainty and naivety of teenage life well. The Prince and other supporting characters do seem a little two dimensional as Zea carries all of the plot lines.

It was an enjoyable good page turner, what more can you want from Princess themed YA.

I honestly waited the whole book for something to happen and nothing was really solved. And half the time I didn't really understand WHERE they were. Overall a great concept. But also very predictable, like Ryce in his last line of a chapter says "and don't fall in love with the handsome prince". Like gee... I wonder what's going to happen?

Can’t say that I did or did not enjoy the book as half the time I didn’t understand what was going on. Will probably have to read again.

Also the girl on fire joke made my day

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. After a few chapters of reading it before bed I then couldn't put it down and have carried on through the trilogy. Really easy to read and most chapters end on a cliff hanger leaving you wanting more and more.

This is the first time having read a dystopian story. The book is marketed at young adults.

It’s about a young woman who joins the Princess Trail to see who will win and marry the Prince. They are set a number tasks to be completed. There a number of Echelons from the outcast to the royal.

I love how the author has crafted her characters and how the story has been weaved between the different settings and story lines.
