Showcasing the bond between those who love the game, Shoeless Joe is about passion and relationships that really centre on one thing: baseball. However, baseball isn't an appealing topic for me and so I found I wasn't excited to keep reading. In this case I prefer the movie (Field of Dreams).

Not being a big fan of baseball, this book was still wonderful. Every page is filled with magical descriptions of everyday things to the point where I think a trip to Iowa may be in order. A very touching book that makes you happy with the little things. I think I'll go on and read about the history of the "Black Sox" after this.
