Solid education is a short male/male romance about a teacher who falls for one of his pupils after the pupil saves a lost dog.

The book is decently written. The main characters are likeable and there's a dog so that's always a great bonus. The story packs a lot in for such a short book and also has a good attempt at averting the love at first sight trope by letting the two protagonists build some chemistry together before they start sleeping together. The scenes with a dog are cute and the story plays out nicely. Very cute.

However, there are maybe too many plot threads for such a short piece. It felt like a lot wasn't properly developed becasue of it. Personally, I'd leave out the student/teacher plot line and have focused on Gage's strugges as a veteran. The student/teacher thing didn't really work for me anyway as Gage transfering to another class woudln't actually change anything to make it more legal which was the fix that was provided. Could have used more building of attraction as we go from I hate you to I like you, though at least there's a nice pause after that to start of a relationship.

All in all, this isn't a bad little book and makes a cute, quick read. It was too short to support the plot it was trying to pull off but was still fun and sweet.

Derek Paulson is a veterinarian and a professor of Vet Sciences at the school that former Marine Gage Tackett attends. Brought together over an injured dog and some hot chemistry can the uptight professor and the bad boy student have more than a fling? I love the differences between these two men. This story left me feeling good.
This story was previously released in the Campus Cravings: Higher Learning MM Boxed Set

Early on I'd have liked a few more scenes showing the development of their relationship from antagonists to reluctant attraction to love.
But I soon got sucked into the story and was rooting for the guys. Loved the epilogue.
