He uses current physics theories and theoretical understandings to discuss the possibility of humanity becoming a multi-planetary species and achieving interstellar travel—simplified for a 10th grade student. I love the big history/future genre and Kaku is a standout in the space.

This is incredibly readable and engaging. Kaku makes traveling beyond seem so easy and reachable. He includes the costs and impediments but all obstacles will be overcome inevitably. Just a matter of time. It's awesome and exciting.

As for writing style, Kaku lays out the path logically and he is easy to follow even without a science background.

Also I immediately looked up MRDS and would LOVE to spend time there.

3.5 This is the second book I've read by Kaku and I think he is just not for me. I enjoy when he talks about the concrete stuff (history, physics, current science that is being explored, etc.) but once he takes speculative jumps that include anything having to do with humanity, it really sours for me.

Extremely enlightening book that provides a scientific explanation for how humanity may progress over the distant future. With an abundance of cutting edge science often explained with useful analogies, the book does a great job of informing and exciting.

This is the first book I read by Kaku, and you can be sure I’ll be reading more of them! He’s got a brilliant way of making complex theories accessible to the general public. I wasn’t expecting such heavy physics theories, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading about general relativity, quantum theory and string theory, and this book reignited my interest in physics! I want to read more about this topics!
