Readable, and captivating enough once the story properly got going... but that took far too long. (And I spent too much time actively not enjoying the writing style.)
Honestly, I didn't particularly like the premise (fake dating a stranger because you can't have an honest conversation with your best friend??) and wasn't able to connect with the characters. But this is an unpopular opinion, so who knows. I didn't actively hate it, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, either.
