Eugene Kim’s DEAR CYBORGS is one of those novels I can’t stop occasionally thinking about, even years after reading it. The digressive conversational weirdness of his off-duty superheroes talking about ordinary life... it just lights my brain on fire. So it’s particularly exciting to hear that he’s been working on another novel in similar form called SEARCH HISTORY (it’s out next year from @coffeehousepress!) and the gorgeous new lit mag @breaking_entering is where you can find an early excerpt.

This thin chapbook was the ideal way to experience this story, which starts in the titular food court but then tangents out to a meditation on loss.

I’m so excited for B&E to keep going in 2021 after this weird COVID-interrupted year — and I’m obviously jazzed for SEARCH HISTORY too. If you’re looking for a stocking stuffer for the weird reader in your life, this is a good one!!
