This is a tough one to review. I liked it overall, but the MC wasn’t particularly likable. I also didn’t like how so many characters who did illegal/bad things were written as likable. Maybe that’s realistic for the private school rich kids but gave me the ick. Had to suspend disbelief several times to get through this. But all that said, found it intriguing and appreciate the overall message.

Love the concept of a high school fixer, but I wish it had leaned into the ridiculousness of that premise, either in a funny way, like in high score by destiny howell, or a dramatic way, like in ann liangs if you could see the sun. This was just very serious, and dealt with some heavy stuff in a way that didn't mesh quite right for me. That said, it's a pretty fun and twisty mystery with a barely there childhood friends to lovers romance
