I have the same complaints as everyone else
1) why was this so long? It didn't need to be this long. The first two were nowhere near this long
2) this long and it still ends on a cliff hanger? Come on
3) having the word "suicide" (or similar) and "killer" almost every page gets old and repetitive fast
4) Paz is really whiney
5) a romantic partner should never be saddled with "saving" their partner from suicide or self harm
6) so many throwbacks to the first two books that some of it was hard to remember. Keep in mind the first book was published 8 years ago.
7) He found out the secret of death cast when? Oh eff off. I can't even with that nonsense.

I really wanted to like this. I LOVED the first one. Thought the second one was ok. This one was too long and it didn't make me emotional at all. So I think I will just read the spoilers for the next one. I'll pass on it.

This was different than the other books in the series, which was both good and bad. This book had a good message, which I think was the best part. The plot was very character focused, which helped get the message across.

Because it wasn’t anyone’s death day, the timing seemed strange. I know it’s important to not want to let someone kill themself, but they also knew each other for three days? It just felt lower stakes since they knew Paz wasn’t dying and he was the one who was currently suicidal. Also the ending was really sudden and quick and the very last Alano chapter was just dropped in there so I guess that means there will be another book to make that part make sense.

I loved to get to see more of the death-cast world! The way society adapted to death cast in so many different ways is so interesting.

A rollercoaster of emotions that had me laughing and crying. The book talks very gently and truthfully about mental illness and mental health. It's relatable and I could find myself between the lines a lot of times. 'The survivor wants to die at the end' is a pure piece of beauty and definitely worth reading. Thanks Adam :)

Better than the other books since the author dropped the bad slang, but still not a fan. This one was too long, and the premise of the world making a villain of a little boy who killed his dad in self defence when his dad was trying to kill his mom, her best friend, and himself, is so wrong and its painful to read. Also, Paz has such a complex as a result, which sure is earned, but him freaking out about Alano’s other friends being close to him after knowing him like three days is too much. He needs to chill.

On top of all that, its not even a full story, it ends on a cliffhanger.
