Well the last book of the trilogy wasn’t it for me. It was hard to get into and felt long when it wasn’t necessary.

The start continued with the
ick which I get is the point but wasn’t done in a way that felt worth it? And I’ve read some DARK fantasy.  

Mostly the characters didn’t grow much and this one was plot so maybe that was why I didn’t connect. It just then became a battle focused book with little change in the characters. 

And the end! Ugh I was frustrated especially since the epilogue wasn’t particularly illuminating and seemed as if it was setting up another series, maybe? I felt unsatisfied. Anywho, the first book was fun but the trilogy didn’t get stronger for me. Might have been better as a duology.
