I think this book did exactly what it was set to accomplish.
This is a dystopian horror novel, where animal meat got a virus and isn’t suitable for human consumption anymore. Thus, human meat has become the way to go. It’s essentially “The Modest Proposal” by Jonathon Swift but with a factory farming twist.
The novel is obviously showing why factory farming is wrong, since if you aren’t repulsed by cannibalism maybe it’s time to talk to a psychologist. But it’s also showing what extreme power does to people, with prostitution leading to the prostitutes getting eaten. What people with unlimited money can do.
I’m giving it 4 stars, because I think the ideas could’ve been explored deeper. But I’m also not really sure I want to read anymore, so it’s provably for the best it’s so short. And I really don’t want to eat meat for a while.
