I didn’t feel attached to any of the characters in this book. The story was easily guessed based off a “rock n roll” lifestyle. I found the interview style writing hard to keep engaged.

One of those books a reviewer would call "compulsively readable". It was really fun and made me want to live in LA and do coke (jk).

The audiobook for this was so much fun! Loved how different all the characters were and how they were brought to life. Truly felt like an account from a real 70s band. I did think this story just flew by though and felt a little short but this could also be because I was listening to it instead of physically reading it.

devoured this in one day on a 10 hour plane, wow. i never expected i’d be as hooked as i was with this book but it really surprised me. it’s been on my tbf for the longest time ever since i’d heard of taylor jenkins reid and everyone was saying how amazing she was - when i read seven husbands i knew i would love the next one i read of hers.

the dialogue is set out in an interview format so you get the perspectives of every band member and their friends. first of all, i fell in love with all of them. not a single one i could fault because they were all so developed and in my head i could just visualise them so well, even though in all fairness there wasn’t much physical description but the way they spoke and how they were spoken about made me piece together their character.

daisy fucking jones. bloody love her. she does what she wants and doesn’t care to fit into standards of politeness and togetherness. massive drug addict and there comes a point where she does something and you think “you done fucked up” - but nevertheless she was developed so well that you can’t help but root for her.

call me evil but i was devastated nothing happened between her and billy
