This was such a unique and fascinating book, complexly told and ultimately engrossing. I'll admit, this book sucked me in by the end, these characters sucked me in. But I'm not sure it's one I'll think back to for years. I loved the different personalities of the band, specifically the "background" characters like Karen, Graham, Eddie, and Warren. Honestly, Billy and Daisy's story was somehow the least captivating? I'm glad I finally sat down and read this book, but I can't help but think about how much better The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is. I'd definitely be interested in listening to the audiobook, though!

i really loved this, and i was hesitant actually getting into it, only because i had heard such raving reviews as with other books by taylor jenkins reid. i had enjoyed seven husbands but malibu rising was not as good for me. so, going into this i just hoped it lived up to its expectations. and i think for the most part it did! i think my only remaining gripes with the book was the ending, like it just felt too comfortably wrapped up for my liking. i was looking for more intensity, and there just wasn't that. it was beautiful, it was heartbreaking, but i think it toed a safer line at points.

This was such an interesting read! I thought the narrative format would take away from the reading experience, but it actually helped me feel like I was sitting right there in the middle of the chaos with the entire crew of characters. I thought the love stories (one in particular) were a bit more complex than average, and my heart aches for all involved by the end.
I suppose I should’ve known since it’s a “novel” but I just wish someone had told me that the band was completely fictional before I started this!

Everyone had their insufferable moments except for Camila, Simone, and Karen. Objectively they are the best characters in the entire book and no one can say otherwise.
