I kept waiting for the characters to develop or the story to go somewhere. Unfortunately I got to the end and was still waiting for it to get interesting. Daisy is extremely unlikeable and selfish and never really changes.

This is the kind of book that will keep you turning pages. Every page I read, I wanted to know what would happen next.

I haven’t read a book like it before, so it is hard to describe. I think what makes it so good to read is the characters and the tightly written narrative. No character is uninteresting, and the way Reid is able to make a story in this interview format is so interesting.

It will make you laugh, and it will make you sad. I would really recommend it

The beauty, the emotion, the rawness, the intrigue, the genius of this book lies in the narrative. The characters are in conversation with each other without ever knowing what the others have said. They sometimes contradict each other, meaning we never quite know where the truth lies. It’s a broken kind of truth - not quite knowable, always a little too far to reach, yet somehow more real, more raw than the whole truth could ever be. When it was revealed who the ‘author’ of the story is, the novel really came together. It’s a clever twist because you’re not quite expecting it, but once it happens, you can’t imagine the narrative any other way, and you see everything the characters have said previously in a slightly different light.
I loved this novel. The way that nothing is perfect and nothing really works out the way we’re hoping makes it feel like real life. Messy and complicated yet grounding, worthwhile. I was left feeling like a fan of a fictional band, a friend of fictional characters, and generally just longing to know more.

This book REALLY surprised me since the plot didn’t really sound like something I’d love. I was pretty sure going into it that this book that it just wasn’t going to be for me be I was quickly captivated by literally every character. They all had such strong clear voices and identities even through the interview style of writing. This book was devastating in a way I wasn’t expecting. I went in this book thinking it was a cute romance but I got a raw book about every emotion out there. I used to study addictions counseling so this book felt really personal and I felt my heart break many times. By the end of it I was in tears and I can’t remember the last time a book made me cry. Just so beautiful. There’s nothing I didn’t like about this book and not one thing I would change. I was halfway through the book before I realized it’s a fake band (I didn’t read the back I just trusted the hype lmao)

I really enjoyed the book, the ending was so breathtaking. I thought it dragged a little in the middle, but besides that it was really great.
