After all the hype around this book, and especially the audio version of it, I was kind of expecting more. I mean, it was a good story I suppose and I liked the different formatting of it (in some ways) but it just didn’t wow me in the ways it seemed to do for others.

I found the different characters to be a nice touch but the constant announcing of names was both helpful and annoying, which was odd. I found myself getting lost trying to keep apart some of the supporting roles.  Overall though, the voice actors did well and helped convey the almost documentary type vibe of the recording. I could almost picture it on VH1 with each band mate giving their own accounts between clips. Some scenes left me with clear visuals of the situation being described (like the album cover photoshoot) and others left me feeling a little lost. For the most part though, I think the author does a great job of painting a picture of the scenes even though Daisy was the only character I could clearly imagine due to the many descriptions of her look.

All in all, it was a good read but maybe I just let the hype set me up for a bit of a let down. It wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever read like I was lead to believe could be the case. Not sure it’s re-read material for me but I don’t regret it. Maybe if I would’ve went in with no expectations I would’ve had different feelings about it. I did really like the end when they tied things up and were talking directly to the “interviewer.” Anyway, I’m rambling now as I try to sum up my thoughts. I think I’ve said what I needed to though so we’ll leave this here for now.

it's so hard for me to read or watch about infidelity, it makes me sick to my stomach, but god this book can be an exception.
Daisy Jones it's not a girl's girl, but i can't blame her
cause Billy didn't help with that either, Camila deserve  better, she's literally an angel

This is such a good book, the format is awesome for a history like this.

I LOVE IT

I was introduced to this story through the Amazon Prime series and enjoyed the audiobook cast and what they brought to the characters. The listening experience was fantastic and I found myself thinking about the characters and their decisions when I was away from the book. My one critique is that the song lyrics are cringe-inducing and distract from the emotional moments when the songs are being written and later performed. But overall, it was an engrossing read that I highly recommend others try!

Daisy jones & the six is an emotional read, once you can get beyond the setting that you’ve seen dozens of times. It does feel too real at times with the documentary style, where the author has essentially plucked out a real band and situation and re-written it with other names and dates. However, it’s a nice easy time.

It’s interesting hearing about all of these people with dreams and everything gets tangled with love and drugs and their relationships with themselves and how those aspects just make it impossible… How all of these people fall together and then have no choice but to walk away in spite of what they want and what they could have all together. It’s heartbreaking in some ways, but reassuring that you’re not the only one going through life as a victim of circumstance. It’s a human experience and we’re all humans (even rockstars).
