nother great read! This one was a lot different than I expected plot wise. Hot firefighter wise, it was EXACTLY what I expected and needed. I love a second chance romance and this one was done so well. I feel like I did not like it quite as much as book 1 but it was still a very solid read.

I want a hotshot
This was a sweet second chance romance.
SPOILERS:
It does have flashback chapters between current time chapters up until the 50% mark. I honestly would have loved the book more if it was set back when they were young. Those chapters were so good. I liked King, and I think he was swoony. Vi was relatable. The part of the book where she thinks she was used and let her insecurities take over made me cry. It had me all in my feelings. I think it's weird her twin would keep super important info from her knowing how miserable she was. I do wish that her being a single, newly divorced mom, we would see more parenting or cute kid scenes. Unfortunately, it appears the kid was usually somewhere else. I hate that. I want the kid to interrupt sweet moments, make things uncomfortable, and jeopardize all the parents' time. I feel like we get to see more of all the relationship growth that way. This book had spice after the 50% mark, so I would classify it as a medium burn. I enjoyed the epilogue.

3/10 Violette, with her daughter, Hollie, has returned home after 10years away. Once there, she’s faced with her high school crush and the man who broke her heart, Rowan, a hotshot firefighter and her brother’s best friend.
I was so looking forward to this after Fight, the first in the series. This fell way short of the mark.
The timeline for Rowan’s injury was off. Basically, after he leaves the hospital it’s never referred to again? I couldn’t really get into it after that.

Book 2 of the trilogy. This one had a lot of tropes (Single mom, second chance, brother’s best friend, caretaker - she’s his nurse, firefighter hero) and they all worked! He is not even scared of a toddler with a stomach bug. Definitely worth a read.
