“The way I love you is as unstoppable as flames coming over a mountain.”
Before I get into the story I have to talk about this narration. Tbh there isn't a whole lot of smut in this book, it being a slow burn and all. But the spicy chapters we do get are hot af! And there's one line narrated by Samantha Brentmoor in chapter 36 that hot damn!!! Ma'am, I'm just gonna say you can order me around like that any day of the week. Gideon Frost was great too, lol. All jokes aside, Samantha and Gideon both did a fantastic job with this narration. This was a very emotional story, and both narrators did a great job at bringing all those emotions to life. And I gotta admit, I think that scene between King and Holly where they're dancing and singing along with SuperPets is going down in history as one of my favorite audiobooks scene.
Violette and Rowan's story was equal parts heartbreaking and beautiful. I feel like there were so many full-circle moments in this story, which was absolutely perfect considering how their story started. There was also a lot of healing done in this story, especially when it comes to grief.
I loved how Rowan always knew that Violette was the one for him and how he wasn't willing to give up on her or them no matter what. I also loved how he loved Holly as if she was his own from the very beginning, no questions asked, and was willing to do anything so that this precious little girl was never disappointed.
Quote: “You feel like my center Vi. You bring me peace, but Christ, all I want to do is fuck you like we’re at war. And I think when you find someone you can have both with, you have to hold on to them as long as you can.”

Loved this single mom/brother’s best friend second chance romance. This is the second book in the series, books 1,2 and 3 are all written by different authors. I wasn’t sure how this was going to work, but loved book 1 and 2 and it felt cohesive.
Violet returns home with her daughter after her divorce. She's working as a nurse in the local burn unit. Rowan is one of the local hotshots (a specific kind of firefighter). They've known each other forever. Her brother and Rowan were best friends and later became firefighters together. Sadly, Violet's brother died after a tragic fire incident. In high school, she fell for him only to have him crush her in one evening.
Now that she's returned home, Rowan is still smitten by her and wants to make things right with her. There's a reason he hurt her feelings so many years ago but he's never stopped loving her. He's willing to do anything to make things right with her.
Nice second chance romance story.
