It wasn't until I started this book that I realized that each book in the series is written by a different author. Thankfully, this book was just as good as the first. I love that these two were high school sweethearts, which makes the years they could have had together all the more tragic. Not only is this a Dual POV book, but we also slowly learn the reason for their estrangement through chapters that are flashbacks seen through the eyes of both characters. I've never quite read a book laid out this way, and I found I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed getting to know King and Violette. Their trauma and bond was so intwined, I enjoyed the flash back scenes and how they grew to trust in each other.

So. Good. I know the second chance romance lovers would eat this bad boy up 🙂‍↕️ to no one’s surprise, little miss Samantha Brentmoor killed it alongside Gideon Frost. The FMC is the hotshots nurse when he gets hurt on the job? Yes please
