Punchline has such a nice design and I think the idea/concept of her character is really cool.
This volume was interesting but kind of felt a little all over the place, issue to issue. I think the first issue with the podcast as a narrative was soooooo good and was a really good introduction into Punchline's mind/idealogy. I wish we kept that throughout because the whole trial and investigation was pretty weak but could have been sooooo cool. It also doesn't help that I didn't read Joker War so I don't even know what crimes she was being charged with.
But i love the whole influencer/streamer concept of Punchline and hope that it's more utilized in the future.

Having previously read Joker Wars, I was curious to see how Mr. Johns and Mr. Tynion IV would handle the fallout surrounding Punchline. The entire debacle of the Joker Wars was a disaster to begin with, pitting the usual hotbed that is Gotham against a political debate. While the obvious plot of "good versus evil" existed (evil having questionable tactics), I walked away wondering about their messaging. And that's precisely what this creative team ran away with.
Is there a criminal without evidence of their crimes? And how do you combat public opinion in an age of social media and social pressure?
There's never any question about the character of Alexia Kaye, yet doubt crops up at every turn. And the manipulation she wields is a thing of beauty. (Or is that horror?) The volume turns her into a perfect foil for the Joker in a way that immediately sets her apart from Harley Quinn - for which I'm eternally grateful. Every calculation is made five steps ahead, leaving little need for improvisation. There's zero question of her falling into the "villain" column, and her underhandedness is chilling. As is her ability to pluck the strings of the people around her.
She's everything society's sweetheart is meant to be. And it speaks volumes about how we treat our celebrities, regardless of their behavior. (Did the team intend this to be a social commentary? Maybe not, but it works well when you hold it up to the light) She is the perfect sociopath. It's hauntingly precise, and the team deserves applause for their work.

2. 75⭐️ for the story (personal opinion as i am not a DC fan—or a fan of super heroes/villains stories in general). I picked it up because i liked the cover art— 5🌟 to illustrators and their work🥰! I may not have enjoyed the story (again due to personal preferences and biases), but the art team COOKED, SERVED, ATE, and left NO CRUMBS!
Graphic: Confinement, Death, Violence, Murder, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Suicide, Toxic relationship, Blood, Fire/Fire injury, Gaslighting, Toxic friendship, and War
Minor: Medical content

Punchline is a really fun and new character in the DC Universe, I wouldn't have thought a Chaotic Evil Harley Quinn would be as enthralling as Alexis Kaye turned out to be. As far as "New Joker Girlfriends" Go I hope she's here to stay, also her appearance in DC vs. Vampires was REALLY cool!

Punchline is an interesting character. She doesn’t seem to have that level of insanity that everyone else does. But then, she has these moments where you just see it.
The character of Harper wasn’t my favorite. She only seemed obsessed with Revenge. And that was it. I wish we had learned more.

This was, quite frankly, a hoot. Loved a lot of the art and the character designs were fun. I wish there were a bit more courtroom drama, I would eat that up.
