Not my type of book. Reminded me of The Family Fang by Kevin Wilson. It was funny and quirky but too much for me. After a while I found the characters annoying and the dialogue tiresome and predictable. To be honest I got 3/4 through the book and gave up.

I care nothing for these privileged wealthy white men. Both Harry and George are awful people and most the female characters in the book are portrayed as victims or bitches. How this ever won the Women's Prize I have no idea.

Reading this book is…weird. It drags on and on and you wonder just how much stuff an author can pack into a story. As I was reading it, I really didn’t appreciate it and only kept reading because I wanted to know what happened next…kind of like a train wreck.

But the ending is nice, and I think really ties it all up and is worth the read.

Wasn't sure about this book at first, but boy did I enjoy it. Solid 4.5 stars for me. A story of trying to make the best of a bad situation, and how we sometimes trip ourselves up in the process.

It’s like a Coetzee novel about Americans. Great read.
