Not sure how I felt about this one. I did enjoy the plot and how Janie worked through her emotions, but at times I felt a bit disconnected and just wanted her to tell her parents and get on with it. Sometimes kids keeping secrets from their parents in books feels forced...like it's just a plot device. This was one of those times.

Another revisit from childhood. Should’ve learned my lesson the first time: never trust the judgement of a middle schooler.

Don't judge me. I read this long ago and was in the mood for being a bit nostalgic. I have since ordered every book in the series on audio. Addictive.

I have really mixed feelings about this book. I was super intrigued by the whole "seeing my picture on a milk carton" thing but It just didn't go the way I thought it would. I thought the story was going on wayyyyyyyy too fast. I know this book is under 200 pages but on one page she doesn't care about her neighbour and the page after they boyfriend&girlfriend? It missed a little concordance in my opinion. Also this whole Imma do it/backout thing kinda annoyed me in the end. I really would have liked to see how the biological parents react to the news that their daughter is alive, but I have to read like 6 more books in 6 different point of vues? I could have taken simply another chapter or a like 10 years after thingy or sonething and it would have done it for me. This book wasn't bad overall, but it wasn't amazing either. I enjoyed it a little but there were just so many things that triggered and annoyed me for me to truly enjoy. Younger 12 years old me would have loved this book tho, but at 20 I think it's just too "children book-ish" for me. The topic was a super original idea and I would LOVE to see other books on that type of topic, but not with Janie and her family.

Really enjoyed the mystery in the book though I do want more and to my happy surprise this is a series so I hope there is more to this story to explain and that the characters get more depth.
