This is a fun take on one of my favorite tropes. Dante is there to check on his best friends sister while seeing if he can find the evidence he needs to get his best friend out of prison. However that all changes when he meets Jen for the first time. Jen is going through way to much but she is staying strong and doing the best she can. She never expected Dante to walk into her life but she is very glad that she did. I'm very glad that he did.

I liked getting to know Dante and Jen. Neither thought they were good enough for the other. Dante had a hard past with secrets he couldn't tell many. After Jen found her ex cheating she started to doubt not only her worth but her looks. She thought she was to plain, to farm dirty, for any guy to love her. I enjoyed watching these two fall in love. I loved seeing Jen become more headstrong and determined the more Dante tried to push her away.

Jen has her hands full with an annoying ex and a hotel company wanting to buy her land. I felt stressed out for her. It all works out but I admit I almost didn't see it coming. I love this HEA. Jen deserves her happiness. However I'm even more happy to see Dante retire and get his own HEA. if he can do it Matteo and Sebastian will be able to as well.

*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review*

ARC.

Holy mother of age gaps. I honestly love me this trope with a passion.
The book follows Dante and Jen, he is a trained assasin, and her brother's best friend. She's the youngest of three, sweet and innocent.
All characters were first introduced in Killer Moves, and now this book follow Jen's life after a mess of a marriage, turned into divorce and trying to save her family's ranch. And Dante trying to help his best friend get out of jail, by taking care of his baby sister and looking for evidence in his family's.
Dante first gets to her ranch and before he could even introduce himself, she confused him with a new foreman who was going to work her.
He eventually realized that this was his in without the need of telling the truth or exposing his true self and work.
They eventually fall into a sync.

The book is fast paced and definitely almost instant love, but at the same time it didn't and it could be a slow fast burn.
They eventually find their pace and fall for each other but without knowing the whole truth.
The story had it all: drama, annoying ex husband, heroine in danger, over protective alpha male, strong underestimated woman.
It just felt natural and meant to be, pretty cute how they cared for each other.
Oh and the plot twist!! It was well executed!

Totally recommend to any who's looking for a cute, sort story with good plot and great characters.

Tropes: best friend's sister, heroine in danger, fake relationship, annoying ex husband.
