This was a decent follow up to the firm, fun to see what the McDeere's had gotten up to after leaving Bandini. Interesting plot that kept you waiting until the very last page but overall wasn't super impressed with it, found it a bit slow and dragging in places.

There's a story in the beginning about a death row client that goes nowhere. The main plot is slow to get started and then plods along. Apparently meetings and phone calls are supposed to be interesting. The plot is ludicrous.

I thought I loved John Grisham's books. It has been a while since I read one of his books. This one did not live up to my expectations. The writing was dull and dry. It read like a legal brief. The plot was good and I enjoyed the characters. However, I felt it was a chore to finish.

Just couldn't get into this. The writing style felt like it was written by a novice author.
I was a little disappointed with this one. I was excited to read a sequel to the firm. The firm was awesome. This read simple and straightforward. No surprises. Ending the way you knew from start. It was way too political with Libya. Hard to follow sometimes. I found it boring at times. I would have preferred more about how the firm ending and gone from there. No Ray in the book. Just disappointed.
