Super disappointing "sequel" with tenuous connection to the great "The Firm" novel.
Another good book by John Grisham.
As always, an easy page turner but after 50 books is losing the edge a little. No courtroom drama and the jeopardy isn't as ramped up as usual. No surprise ending either which was a bit surprising. lol.
Available FREE in all Irish libraries, if you're a Grisham fan you'll enjoy it.

DNF for me. Did not care for story line or the characters. A bit boring and did not hold my attention.

i technically started this book in early march but i was in a slump, had other books that i'd rather read, but by the time i got back into this in late may, it really only took me a few days to devour it.
i loved this. i loved the characters and the storyline. i also really liked the way john grisham wrote in short sentences at times. it really emphasised the urgency and made it more intense. it was just all around a really good read.
i've never read the firm - didn't know it existed (i don't think you have to have read it to understand the exchange btw). also have never read a john grisham book. this was a pretty good introduction in my eyes. so if fans of his think this book is bad, then im keen to read what's considered a good book by him.
the only downside to this book is a purely personal thing, being that all the mentions of lawyers and law firms etc etc reminds me of my work and that contributed to me putting this off for so long. the last thing i want to do after working at a law firm all day is to read a book about a law firm.
