Herzblut ist einfach so liebenswert. Mein absoluter Liebling. Jakkins Vorstellungen von Männlichkeit und die fehlende Kontextualisierung seiner patriarchalischen Vorstellung sind jedoch ein downer.
Although not as good as the first book, this novel is still a great addition to the series. The feel of the story is entirely different, broadening into different areas of the planet and planetary politics. I did not predict any of the events as they played out, which is always nice.
Branches out a little into the wider world of austar IV, brings in a few extra characters, a few extra dragons, gives the world a bit more background and placing.
The first of the series is my favourite, but I absolutely loved this one, poignant, action-packed and sad. Definitely a more mature book than the first, with themes to match.
