What a lot of fun it was to see the beginnings! I thoroughly enjoyed this title! Some of my favorite authors writing lovely, sad, serious, and even silly stories and I got my fill of fresh romance. I dug it. Great concept for a book well-realized.

cute short stores, quick read but pretty forgettable long term

This collection was pretty hit or miss for me, which was a bit of a disappointment because I have really enjoyed the novels of many of the authors. Still, there were a few stand outs or me:
• Print Shop by Nina Lacour
• Click by Katharine McGee
• Oomph by Emery Lord
• The Unlikelihood of Falling in Love by Jocelyn Davies
• The Department of Dead Love by Nicola Yoon

Interestingly, most of the stories I enjoyed explore the many ways that technology is becoming a part of how we relate to each other, which is kind of cool.

My first ever short story anthology - and a lovely one. I listened to this as an audiobook and it was a pleasant listen. Full of hope and love optimism, the sort of thing to read to remind you that love exists and that you can meet that person, your person, at any point.

I really liked this book. I am a big fan of short stories and was very excited to read these. The one thing I didn't like was not always knowing certain details about the narrating character, such as name, gender, etc. It was not always easy to tell if the person narrating was a woman or man, which made it difficult for me to envision the story accurately in my head. I LOVE that this book included both heterosexual and homosexual love stories. I also love the diversity of the stories. The place, circumstances, and time of each meet cute were completely unique in each story. And I also love that the stories all ended right after the characters meeting and realizing there could be something more between them. It left their love story open to the imagination and in my mind, all their stories had happy endings. Very cute book!

If you want a quick read, a book you won’t want to put down, in which each chapter is a sweet dose of happiness - the warm, fuzzy feeling of a rom com - this book is for you. Meet cute is simply cute stories of love.

So damn cute, so easy and quick to read and so lovely and nice, it makes you smile and want to fall in love

The title definitely doesn’t lie. This collection is full of both cute and awkward first meetings. It’s a fun idea, and I had a lot of hope for the collection. As is the case with some anthologies, I ended up enjoying about half of them— and Jennifer Armentrout, Julie Murphy, and Emory Lord’s stories stood out the most to me. All three were top-notch stories that’d I’d love to read more of!

honestly, couldn’t get into most of the stories except the unlikely likelihood of falling in love which totally stole my heart.

Confession: I love short stories. Confession two: I almost never read short story collections. There's something about lumping them together in a book that almost always ruins the experience for me. I believe that out there somewhere is a collection of short stories, all of which are amazing, which have been collected into a book in the perfect order.

This collection, unfortunately, while good, wasn't perfect. The quality of the stories varies widely. I was even super disciplined in forcing myself to read this book one story at a time so that feelings about one wouldn't bleed into the next. Not being a Youth and not being particularly into Love-at-First-Sight probably didn't aid in my enjoyment, or lack thereof. I will give this collection credit for being fairly diverse in genre and characterization, if not particularly diverse in how love is sparked between characters.

High points: "Oomph" by Emery Lord was my absolute favorite story in the book. It was just the right mix of adorable and uncertain, and it felt super realistic. They weren't like, feeling the strings of destiny in the moment. They were just meeting. Runner up, "The Department of Dead Love" by Nicola Yoon.
