3.2 stars. My rating is based on the average of my rating of each of the stories, which is detailed below.
• Siege Etiquette - 1 stars (2nd person narration, completely forgettable. Rough choice starting the anthology with this one because I was skeptical to continue on as a result)
• Print Shop - 4 stars
• Hourglass - 4 stars
• Click – 4 stars
• Intern – 2 stars (just meh. Nothing that kept me wanting to read more about the characters)
• Somewhere That’s Green – 3.5 stars
• The Way We Love Here -3 stars
• Oomph – 3 stars
• The Dictionary of You and Me – 5 stars (Sooo stinkin’ cute!)
• The Unlikely Likelihood of Falling in Love – 5 stars (I would read a full-length novel by this person – off to look into that)
• 259 Million Miles – 3.75 stars
• Something Real – 4 stars
• Say Everything – 2 stars (2nd person narration again and no connection to the story or characters for me)
• The Department of Dead Love – 4.5 stars (lost half a star because this premise is SO COOL! But I want more buildup, which I realize isn’t possible in a short story but it’s my ratings and I do what I want!)

I couldn't keep reading these stories. I always find second person PoV to be a weird choice; it prevents me from immersing myself in the story. And I knew that these would be more geared towards young adults but it was the kind of young adult writing that turns me off. Finally, the stories I did read were pretty transparent. It was very easy to see where it was going and I felt cheated. What's the point of continuing to read if you know what's going to happen?

Cute, but the premise meant that some stories ended too abruptly, just when I was starting to get invested in the characters. There were also a couple of stories that I didn't like at all, so this spoilt some of the ones I did enjoy.
Eh. Strangely enough for a book called Meet Cute, a lot of the stories in here were not really all that cute. As is the case with most story collections, this had hits and misses but most of the stories were solidly mediocre for me. My favorites were:
Print Shop by Nina LaCour--Nina LaCour seems to be a literary standout in YA fiction these days.
Click by Katherine McGee--Which was like a happier version of the Black Mirror episode "Hang the DJ."
The Dictionary of You and Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout--It takes place in a library. You don't need much else to sell me on it.
The Department of Dead Love by Nicola Yoon--Which actually features a department dealing with love issues. The more I read by Nicola Yoon, the more I like her. Last year I stayed in the same hotel as Nicola Yoon while in Washington D.C. I rode the elevator with her and she was super nice and had a purse shaped like a typewriter and I was a little giddy because I'm a book nerd and me seeing writers in person is on par with teenagers seeing boy band members. So Nicola Yoon is cute, even if this collection was not.

I hardly ever read short story collections, but I am so glad I picked this one up. Full of lovely stories of how relationships start, it was a heartwarming read. There were definitely some that were better than others, but overall this was a great little book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

this book was so cute! pretty much every story was just warm and fuzzy in a way that made me believe in love (not that i really need it with all the romance i read but..). i definitely liked some of the stories a lot more than others but the great thing about anthologies is that i didn’t have to force myself to read a whole book about their story, it’s over super quickly.
there were quite a few characters and plots i was obsessed with and i loved the diversity. it was sad when a story i really loved finished but there’s a sort of nice feeling about not wanting something to end. it’s like, you realise it’s that good. and there were more meet cutes to explore.
i was very excited to read this collection of tales because i knew of quite a few of the authors - having liked their stuff before - as well as looking forward to finding out more about those i didn’t know. i was not disappointed. i would definitely recommend this book to romance lovers but if that’s not something you’re a big fan of then well...that’s mostly the basis of every story (but i’m sure you know this already, the title is “meet cute” after all).
