I loved this, although some were too short (in the best way) and some I'd love to be full books! So good if you are looking for a commute book to listen to.
Ok so I read this basically a year ago, and I only remember 2 stories with fondness. It's no a strong mind-clinger, this book, but it was pleasant and I enjoyed my time with it.
Actual score: 3.5/5
Some of the stories were really good, others could be straight up fanfiction... Idk I feel like this is a common problem with anthologies

3.5 stars - While this anthology had a couple outstanding stories, the majority was pretty lack luster. Overall it just felt like these stories needed more development or resolution.
Siege Etiquette by Katie Cotugno - 2 stars
This did not work at all as a 19 page story; the characters needed so much more development. Not a great start to the anthology.
Print Shop by Nina Lacour - 4 stars
Being a design-nerd, this story offered the perfect setting for me. The author really helped you understand each character’s personality in such a short span. However, the romance was pretty unbelievable.
Hourglass by Ibi Zoboi - 5 stars
I absolutely adored everything about this story! It had so many great aspects; diversity awareness, friendship betrayal, and a strong female MC. My only complaint is that I WANT MORE!
Click by Katherine McGee - 3 stars
This was cute, but nothing spectacular. It touched upon heartbreaking topics but didn’t really make me feel anything.
The Intern by Sara Shepard - 3.75 stars
Sara is the queen of insta-love, yet this short story was the longest it’s taken any of her characters to fall for one another; it’s quite comical. That aside, this was both heartbreaking and uplifting.
Somewhere That’s Green by Meredith Russo - 3.5 stars
The LGBT representation in this was wonderful. However, the way the love interest came out was extremely unrealistic. That aside, this story tackled the issue of transphobia head on and we really need more of that in literature.
The Way We Love Here by Dhonielle Clayton - 3.25 stars
This was a very intriguing story, but something about it didn’t resonate with me the way it should have.
Oomph by Emery Lord - 5 stars
A perfectly written meet cute; the romance wasn’t rushed or over the top, it was realistically natural and adorable.
The Dictionary of You and Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout - 4 stars
This was SO cute and I didn’t even mind how predictable it was. Plus, having this mainly set in a library definitely made me adore it even more.
The Unlikely Likelihood of Falling in Love by Jocelyn Davies - 3.75 stars
A nerd in NYC embracing fate, what more could you ask for in a meet cute? This was a very unique story!
259 Million Miles by Kass Morgan - 2.5 stars
A vastly unrealistic story that left me with no desire to know anything else about the characters.
Something Real by Julie Murphy - 3 stars
I loved how different this setting was, but it was super predictable.
Say Everything by Huntley Fitz Patrick - 2.5 stars
The last 8 lines were the best part of this. I really didn’t like the writing style and felt the story was overall lackluster.
The Department is Dead Love by Nicola Yoon - 3.75 stars
An interesting take on heartbreak, but I didn't really enjoy the modern "fantasy" setting.

I want to be half of a meet cute
Meet cutes are my jam. I kept saying I had a favorite story in this book and then I would read the next one and it would be my favorite.

I am going to be reviewing each individual story, but overall this is a cute quick read. You could skip around and do not need to read these in order. I like that it shows a variety of what one may consider a "meet cute" and so that's why there's something for everyone in here. I may not have connected to some stories while others turned me into the heart eye emoji.
Siege Etiquette by Katie Cotugno- 1.5 stars: So not a great start IMO. I was left more confused with this story. This storyline is between a girl and a boy. The girl seems to be a wealthy queen bee and the boy is portrayed as the poor farm boy who of course isnt normally around because hes working to help his family. Since he doesnt go out often its been awhile since she's last seen him and now he has re-emerged as a good looking guy. this story seems like its supposed to be about a girl who isn't the nicest but of course because of a tragedy she's suddenly had a change of heart (to a certain extent). I just didn't consider this a "meet cute" and didn't like the characters.
Print Shop by Nina Lacour-2 stars: I felt like this story didn't have enough interaction between the two girls. Yes they did some online chatting, but nothing really that made them get to know each other. One girl essential online investigates the other and that creates her interest or crush. I felt this was more of a one sided "meet cute."
Hourglass by Ibi Zoboi 3 stars: Ok so this for me dragged it started slow and you do not get the "meet cute" until the last 2 pages so I personally could've done without the first pages. I get you still need to build up a story, but meh.
Click by Catherine McGee 4 stars: So this story has a male and a female storyline. It deals with dating apps. I've never tried a dating app so I don't know how they work, but the way this panned out I found adorable. I also found a part slightly creepy, but only because it reminded me of an episode of black mirror (I've never actually seen the show but a friend described an episode that was similar to part of the girls storyline). I did swoon at the whole he tucks her hair behind her ear-I'm a sucker for that because to me it's such an intimate and caring action.
Intern by Sara Shephard- 2 stars: daughter of a music label owner meets "hot" musician of said record label. I just found this unoriginal and forgettable.
Somewhere thats Green by Meredith Russo-3 stars: This storyline deals with a person who is transgender and a girl who is a lesbian. I was disappointed by this one because I loved Meredith's book [b:If I Was Your Girl|26156987|If I Was Your Girl|Meredith Russo|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1462088577s/26156987.jpg|43552369], so i had high expectations. I am not part of these communities so maybe I just didn't understand/connect to the situation. I liked the general topic, but I had an issue with the "couple."
Way we love Here by Dhionelle clayton- 3.5 stars: this from the beginning had me thinking of Moana (the movie). I enjoyed the fantasy element and like that this deals with love and opportunities.
Oomph by Emery Lord- 5 stars: Such a cute airport story between 2 nerdy girls. I loved the reference to comics and just found their whole interaction squeal worthy from cuteness. I didn't want this story to end.
Dictionary by Jennifer L. Armentrout- 3.5 stars: so this started off kinda creepy and ended cute. Since its a short story there isn't a lot of initial context that leads you up to the "couples" first scene so when she was on the phone I found it kind of creepy when he said I miss you. I was like um this could be some dirty old man! But once you get to their first face to face interaction it becomes cute.
Unlikely likelihood by Jocelyn Davies- 3.5 stars: boy and girl storyline. This is a geeky cute storyline because it deals with statistics/ numbers for a high school project and maybe even a little bit of fate/destiny? This is more of a socially awkward character because she seems more interested in the numbers behind the situation and then the attraction.
259 Miles by Kass Morgan- 4 stars. Storyline deals with a boy and a girl. This is another one where I feel like I would've read an entire novel because of the storyline. This has an unexpected ending IMO. I want to know more about the main characters
Something real by Julie Murphy- 3 stars: reminded me of the tv show Unreal (which is essentially making fun of shows like the bachelor but darker) but a PG version. 2 female characters who are pitted against one another to win a dream date with a hot young male artist. They arent catty towards one another, which i enjoyed and their relationship develops as the story goes on. I do not consider this an insta-love "meet cute,"which I appreciate.
Say everything by Huntley Fitzpatrick- 1.5 stars: storyline deals with a girl and a boy. The boy is a rich guy who "has a heart of gold" and his family has screwed over the girls family. He tries to make it up by attempting to do something sweet for her. I was bored.
Dead Love by Nicola Yoon- 4 stars I don't know if I would consider this a meet cute, but I found the storyline fascinating and would be interested in a whole book.

This was such a cute, heartwarming book. The stories and characters were diverse, the meetings were really sweet, and I genuinely found myself smiling hugely or "aww"-ing aloud at most of the stories. Nothing bad to say about this collection! And I loved the queer representation.

I love anthologies so I was expecting to like this... but did not realize how much I would. The diversity is really what surprised me (in the best way possible) the most. It was so refreshing to read. I truly enjoyed every story in this book. I also can’t wait to purchase- the cover is too cute!
