Lighthearted, a fun quick read. Brightened my day.
I’m a sucker for the love story and I didn’t want any of these short stories to end!

Cute
Some of the stories were frustrating because they didn't have endings just a teaser. For the most part the stories were interesting and fun to read.

Some stories were so cute and I wish they were longer, most stories I didn't care to have more or I skipped to the next one when I couldn't get into it at all.

whoa i read this a while ago and forgot to review it, oops!
not all stories in this are created equal -- there was one in particular of which the writing style and plot was not at all my vibe. but overall this was a really lovely and creative anthology, and i really admire all the authors' abilities to come up with these characters and have us know them and root for them.
the very first story in this collection (siege etiquette by katie cotugno) was a standout for me and easily my favourite. there was something compelling about the tension between the two characters that took my breath away. and okay, maybe i'm a sucker for second person pov, but the prose was in a style that i just love to read -- the kind where you unravel the character, in a way. i honestly think about this short story a lot, and wish i could read more of those two characters.
i also really enjoyed emery lord's and nicola yoon's chapters. really lovely and interesting explorations of love and relationships.

I kept hearing about this book over all of my podcasts and at first I was resistant, but then it kept coming up so I decided to give it a read. And I'm very glad I did. This is a good collection of stories from some of the more well known writers of YA today and their take on the idea of love at first sight. All of these were very sweet stories even the ones that were tinged with tragedy. They all did a good job of describing the various ways new and young love can bloom and how normal situations and set-ups can have unexpected results.
Originally I was going to give this four stars because I didn't love all the stories but when I looked back over the titles I realized it was only one that I had lukewarm feelings for. And even that one was enjoyable I just didn't enjoy it as much as I did the others . What I also love about these short stories collections is it gives you an idea of an author's writing style; so if you've been hesitant about picking up a specific author's work and you enjoy their short story, chances are you would enjoy a novel by them. I would definitely recommend this collection to any YA and romance lover.

A sweet YA anthology full of teens meet-cute-ing everywhere. While most feel like they could take place today, there was one magical realism one and three with light sci-fi elements.
My main complaint with most of the stories is that they felt kind of rushed. Often I was either confused about where we were in the story or confused at where the chemistry was. Not sure if that means this was just an anthology not meant for me or what.

Alright, weird start with vague cheating and 2nd person POV
Print Shop by Nina LaCour
3.75/5 stars
Very cute f/f romance. For some reason I got confused with what the print shop actually did, but the romance was nice. #ownvoices sapphic
Hourglass by Ibi Zoboi
3.75/5 stars
I really liked the discussion of being black, fat, and coming from a poor family. Wished the meet-cute was more established and wasn't right at the end.

I think I just don't like near futuristic stories like this, especially those involving technology that feels invasive to me.
The Intern by Sara Shepard
1.5/5 stars
Just kinda bleh. Didn't feel the chemistry.
Somewhere That's Green by Meredith Russo
3/5 stars
I wish I could've enjoyed these theater lesbians more than I did.

The Way We Love Here by Dhonielle Clayton
4/5 stars
Loved the magical realism aspect and the different take on the "red string of fate." Plus, the way they traveled through time was well handled. #ownvoices black rep
Oomph by Emery Lord
4.5/5 stars
I feel called out because this is what I always imagine in my head when I fly. One of the stories where I really felt the chemistry. Wish I could read like, a novella or something bigger with these two.
The Dictionary of You and Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Overall okay. But saying you're going to "go to college to get a degree in library science" makes me think you don't know that library science is just a master's degree not a bachelor's degree and that irritated me more that I expected.
The Unlikely Likelihood of Falling in Love by Jocelyn Davies

MY GOD! This was so fucking cute. Like those last few lines??? Clutching my Kindle to my chest.
259 Million Miles by Kass Morgan
2/5 stars
Honesty, with how this short story ended, this probably should not have been here.
Something Real by Julie Murphy
3/5 stars
I wanted to like this more than I did. It was okay, but I just wanted more interaction from the two girls. Plus, it didn't even feel like they had enough filmed to reasonably make a whole TV episode? #ownvoices f/f
Say Everything by Huntley Fitzpatrick
1/5 stars
Confusing, creepy, somehow even got creepier
The Department of Dead Love by Nicola Yoon
3.5/5 stars
Nice world-building, pretty sweet, had the most memorable quotes.
Adn there's a lot more diversity beyond that I marked as ownvoices. I just wish that there were some m/m stories. Or a trans guy. Or an enby character. OR how a meet-cute would be with an ace and/or aro character.
