"Some people make you want to be known."

This is a very good anthology! The short stories were mostly well-written, and have diversity in genders, sexuality, ethnicity and skin color. Here's my individual ratings for each story:

"Siege Etiquette" by Katie Cotugno - 4 stars
"Print Shop" by Nina Lacour - 2 stars
"Hourglass" by Ibi Zoboi - 3 stars
"Click" by Katharine McGee - 4 stars
"The Intern" by Sara Shepard - 2 stars
"Somewhere That's Green" by Meredith Russo - 3.5 stars
"The Way We Love Here" by Dhonielle Clayton - 4.5 stars
"Oomph" by Emery Lord - 5 stars
"The Dictionary of You and Me" by Jennifer L. Armentrout - 4 stars
"The Unlikely Likelihood of Falling in Love" by Jocelyn Davis - 3 stars
"259 Million Miles" by Kass Morgan - 4 stars
"Something Real" by Julie Murphy - 4 stars
"Say Everything" by Huntley Fitzpatrick - 1 star
"The Department of Dead Love" by Nicola Yoon - 4 stars

Overall, I really enjoyed the stories. The average of these individual ratings is 3.43 but I'm rounding up to 4 stars because of my enjoyment. Some felt flat to me, others were exactly what I was expecting them to be, there were cute, adorable and swoony moments, some heartbreaking ones. I want full novels of some of these stories (like the ones written by Lord, Clayton, Morgan, Murphy and Yoon) and expected more from others (maybe I don't click with Lacour's writing style? The meet-cute aspect of her story felt like an afterthought to me). But they made me want to read more from these authors, which is always an amazing thing.

This book is an anthology of contemporary love stories, by some of today's hippest YA authors. It was okay but, no matter how hard I try, I just can't engage with short stories in the same way I can with a full-length novel. So, I admit there were a few stories in Meet Cute I read very quickly (as in, skimmed). And - as an extra aside - I must mention that a few of the stories written in second person kind of threw me off; it was a strange perspective to write from & made it difficult to connect with the characters (although I guess I have to give those authors compliments for trying).

When all was said and done, there were only two stand outs for me that I actually enjoyed...loved, even! These two stories were The Dictionary of You and Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout and The Unlikely Likelihood of Falling in Love by Joselyn Davies.

Ok, as usual I'm just adding individual mini-notes for each story. This book is super gorgeous and you should all read it because it's the sweetest thing EVER!

SIEGE ETIQUETTE - Katie Cotugno
Super short. Left me with all the questions and none of the answers. Very cute still. 4/5 stars.

PRINT SHOP - Nina Lacour
Divine. I really and truly want to read a full lenght story on this. 5/5 stars

HOURGLASS - Ibi Zoboi
The main character is a tall, plus sized girl. And she stands for herself, and doesn't take crap from anyone. I love her. 4/5 stars

CLICK - Katharine McGee
I love this. An app that helps you meet a person compatible with you, a sort of technological tinder. I could honestly use this app. The story was so sweet, the characters so appeling. 5/5 stars.

THE INTERN - Sara Shepard
Cute. Sad. Moving. The most beautiful ending. 5/5 stars.

SOMEWHERE THAT'S GREEN - Meredith Russo
This was very relevant. Really, an important message, a nice cause. But it lacked something. I don't even know what it is but something is lacking. 3/5

THE WAY WE LOVE HERE - Dhonielle Clayton
Why was this so good? A true love and soulmates of a sort and everyone gets a special mark that their special other get AU. This was like a tumblr prompt and I love it. 5/5 stars.

OOMPH - Emery Lord
This was extremely cute. I didn't write any other note. Just that one and it's enough. 5/5 stars.

THE DICTIONARY OF YOU AND ME - Jennifer L. Armentrout
Favorite story. I loved it so much. It was truly like a Hallmark movie of a sort and I adore Hallmark movies. Dare I say it? It was sazzy. 5/5 stars.

THE UNLIKELY LIKELIHOOD OF FALLING IN LOVE - Jocelyn Davies
This story is my second best favorite. It was really cute and I can totally understand the way this girl felt. I understand her. 5/5 stars.

259 MILES - Kass Morgan
Tragic love isn't my thing. It was a cute concept but if I'm being honest I feel like I was set up for this huge true love and betrayed at the end. That ending was very lacking, I'm sorry to say it but it just doesn't work for me. 3/5 stars.

SOMETHING REAL - Julie Murphy
Cute. But if I'm being honest as a major fangirl for my own story I felt a but sad about this story. 4/5 stars.

SAY EVERYTHING - Huntley Fitzpatrick
This was a really fresh concept. A bittersweet story. I really liked it. 4/5 stars.

THE DEPARTMENT OF DEAD LOVE - Nicola Yoon
Is Everything, Everything really the one and only book from Nicola Yoon that I don't like?
This was hearbreaking and beautiful. Sweet and bitter. It was truly beautiful and perfect. 5/5 stars.

Overall score: 4.4 stars.
