Bree Paulsen’s follow-up to ‘Garlic and the Vampire’ is just as adorable as its predecessor, and beautifully illustrated. This book feels more like a coming-of-age story, as Garlic comes to realize she’s turning into a human. Her body is changing in all kinds of mysterious ways - she’s growing fingers, for crying out loud! It’s cute, and Garlic’s anxieties are all-too-relatable for young readers and adults alike. I love the simplicity of Paulsen’s stories. They have a charming quality that will surely bewitch kids who enjoy fairy tales and magic. As for the ending of ‘Garlic and the Witch’ - it may just leave you with tears in your eyes.
So cute, wholesome and heartwarming! I liked the plot on this one a lot
