🗡 Court of Ravens and Ruin
by Eliza Raine Book review🗡
🖤 I saw that this book could become an @auroracratebookbox special edition and it sounded fun so I got it and started to read it 🖤
You would love this book if you like:
⭐️ A norse mythology inspired fantasy
⭐️ Unique magic system where fae depend on humans to access magic
⭐️ A funny owl helping the FMC with a very high opinion of himself
My final rating is 4⭐️
It takes a 4🌶 rating for me (explicit scenes, teasing and not so vainilla sex. A lot of desire in general) (Note: There is really just one explicit scene in this book but by the tone I am guessing a 4 🌶 rating for the series)
Note: This is all my personal opinion. Read what makes you happy :)
Rambling about the book in the comments.

It's been some time since I read a viking inspired book, it's a shame because I usually like them but I never search for them. If there was not a possibility of this becoming an special edition I may have never picked it up. But I was curious and Aurora Crate makes such gorgeous SE that I always want to know if I will also like the book before falling for a pretty cover.
I am dying to know exactly why does the MMC needs the FMC, Reyna so badly. And who is she really. I have a semi theory but I want to read the rest of the series before saying anything.
I'm also really liking the magic system, fae needing humans to create staffs for them otherwise they have no magic is so interesting, but then the faes not protecting those humans better than their gold it's a little bit stupid not gonna lie.
I like the FMC Reyna, she is headstrong and is trying the best she can but also knows when to go with the flow a bit to keep surviving, but she also gets on my nerves sometimes, by the end of the book I found she made better choices. This book is very much a chosen one type of book and we can tell with Reyna being the only person with copper colored hair and a secret prophecy at her back. I know a lot of people don't enjoy the chosen one trope but I always eat it up lol.
Overall the book is entertaining, it's short so there is not much interaction between the protagonists to call it romantic and it ends in a pretty abruptly cliff hanger.
My favorite part without doubt was the owl Voror.

Short enough book (300pgs) but it really felt like the first book in a series, as in, we learned little to nothing :) I’m down for a lil teaser moment but it would’ve been nice to have something to hold on to. I shall continue on to see what’s the chat in book 2/4 and that’ll determine whether I stay to hear book 3 out
