I haven’t read a fantasy series in a while. This was short and easy but I liked it.
A quick fantasy read - roughly 300 pages and took me a day to read.
Summary:
A rune-marked human girl from the gold court was kidnapped by the Prince of the shadow court to help solve his curse and overthrow his step mom (evil vicious messed up queen lady who has too much power). They end up having the hots for each other while also trying to break the curse within the queen knowing. While trying to break the curse, the queen is playing some crazy mind games because the shadow court does have mind magic.
This is a stereotypical fantasy book but I still quite enjoyed it!
We got enemies to lovers, slow burn, and interspecies relationship

Action-packed and full of dark secrets, A Court of Ravens and Ruin follows Reyna, an enslaved rune-marked gold-bringer, as she’s snatched from certain abuse at the hands of the Gold Court’s arrogant prince, only to find herself bound in the Shadow court, which threatens to be even more dangerous. Determined to save her friends and find a way out, Reyna begins to suspect there’s more to the nightmare prince than the rumors suggest. But first, she must dodge death lurking at every turn.
This dark romantasy is brimming with tension. Partially the kind the makes you want to throttle the often petulant FMC, but also the good kinds that a) keep you on edge because no one can be trusted and b) builds between two people who obviously want each other. While there’s not a ton of depth, it’s a fast & entertaining read, with most of the twists packed into the last quarter and a cliffhanger that had me downloading book two immediately.

Holy Sheep Dip!
Grab a comfy spot and start reading.
This was a fast paced engaging story from the start and didn't stop.
Gradual introduction of the main characters made it a page turner as you wanted to find out more and more about them.
Storyline developed well and no lagging or slow spots.
Reyna did get a bit over the top with her attitude and was annoying at times but you can get over that.
