A nice love story!

Some times people have been hurt so bad that they are scared to take a chance with loving someone again. This couple took a chance and it ended well. I enjoy this reading books by this author!

3.5 Stars!

I enjoy this author’s storytelling and so I really enjoyed this novel about recovering from past hurts and changing your ways. This author also specializes in building community around the main characters that you care about. I absolutely loved the heroine and related to her hermit ways and also how she stood up for her sisters in truth. The relationship between the sisters is really honest and imperfect and I enjoyed that.

The premise is that 4C Angie, a natural hair YouTube celebrity rents the other side of her duplex to hospitality management professional and general playboy, Ryan, who’s in town for 6 months to oversee the set up of a hotel. Angie has had it with time wasters and playboys and she quickly IDs Ryan as one. Meanwhile Ryan can’t stop thinking about her even though he recognizes it’s messy to get involved with your landlord- especially one who seems able to resist your charms.

This was a cute standard romance novel. I loved the nods to the YouTube natural hair community of which I’m a fan and I loved that family-wise everything wasn’t sorted in the end and that it all felt real and honest and authentic. Yes, I recommend this and I’m going to be continuing with this series.

Ryan and Angie

First I loved the fact that Angela was a natural hair vlogger. She was a loving person who wanted the same love in return. Ryan was the ultimate play boy who knew his short comings. Angie threw him off and he fell, hard. Their parental relationships, or lack thereof, played a part in their personal lives, but they did a fairly good job of not letting it consume them, at least in their relationship.

Love them!

Not sure how I never reviewed this book after having read it at least five times but I have to make sure I do. Alexandria has a way of making characters that are so endearing and realistic and Angie and Ryan are no exception. I love them together! Nicky is by far my fav and I can’t wait for her story.

I loved the storytelling, the chemistry between the main characters, and especially the dialog between them. It definitely sets you up to want more of the Strickland Sisters.
