Oof. I really enjoyed the flashbacks more than the present day writing. The “twist” and quick reconciliation was….weak. This book had such promise but was an ultimate letdown.

“I don't take things for granted anymore. I don't take people for granted. And I know time is not infinite.”

For the most part, I absolutely loved this book. I couldn't put it down because I needed to know what happened between Sam and Perc. I loved their friendship.

I loved all of the chapters that went back to their past summers the most—watching them become friends, best friends and then more. The "now" section was good too, but it takes a while to understand those parts not knowing the extent of their relationship and what ultimately went wrong.

The one thing I wasn't a big fan of where the sexual scenes, the writing on those portions felt a little cringe. I hated when it was saying things like "I wanted him to think me from belly button to my nipple. Maybe I'm weird, but that isn't a thought I normally have. I also don't enjoy words like "erection" and "groin" like let's just call it by normal terms we actually use.
